A continuación, fueron las niñas del Segunda División Nacional de José Luis Herrera las que disputaron su partido ante el San Francisco de Asís también de Mijas, equipo a priori superior, al que plantaron cara y terminaron empatando 19-19 tras superar en los últimos cinco minutos cuatro goles de desventaja, por tanto, empate con sabor a victoria. 
A las 8 de la tarde, los juveniles de Juanlu Padilla, se enfrentaron al equipo masculino de la misma categoría del San Francisco de Asís de Mijas, al cual dominaron claramente desde el minuto 10 de la primera parte y al que acabaron venciendo por 42-31, resultado meritorio, ya que el Juvenil de La Cañada está compuesto casi en su totalidad por jugadores noveles en la categoría.
Para culminar la jornada, el domingo a las 12 horas, el equipo de Primera División Nacional de La Cañada se enfrentó al BM Terpe de Elda, en la segunda jornada de ésta competición, al que venció, con el incondicional apoyo de un graderío a rebosar y a pesar de hacer un mal partido, por 31-30, corta pero muy válida diferencia que sirve a los jugadores de Paco Tortosa para adquirir confianza de cara a sus próximos compromisos.
